FLAT'ULENT, a. [L. flatulentus, flatus, from flo, to blow.]
Affected with flatus or gases generated in
the alimentary canal; windy.
Generating, or tending to generate, wind
in the stomach.
Vegetables abound more with aërial particles than animal substances, and therefore are more flatulent. Arbuthnot. Turgid with flatus; as, a flatulent
