IMPRAC'TICABLE, a. [in and practicable. See Practice.]

1. That cannot be done or performed; infeasible; not to be effected by human means,or by the means proposed. It is impracticable for a man to lift a ton by his unassisted strength; but not impracticable for a man aided by a mechanical power.

2. Untractable; unmanageable; stubborn; as a fierce, impracticable nature.

3. That cannot be passed or traveled; as an impracticable road; a colloquial sense.

  1. Not practicable; incapable of being performed, or accomplished by the means employed, or at command; impossible; as, an impracticable undertaking.
  2. Not to be overcome, persuaded, or controlled by any reasonable method; unmanageable; intractable; not capable of being easily dealt with; -- used in a general sense, as applied to a person or thing that is difficult to control or get along with.
