WHITEWOOD, n. A species of timber tree growing in North America, the Liriodendron, or tulip tree. The name of certain species of Bignonia.
The soft and easily-
worked wood of the tulip tree (Liriodendron). It is much used in
cabinetwork, carriage building, etc.
